Yes, it’s another reunion. We’re bored of them too, don’t worry. This time it’s grunge legends Soundgarden who’ve decided to end their 12 year hiatus and bag a load of cash in the process.

Croaky crooner Chris Cornell yesterday tweeted that “the 12 year break is over and school is back in session!”, confirming rumours that the band would be getting back together for a run of shows this year. We’ve been peering into our crystal ball and have our suspicions that their first gig might be the ‘remember the good old days?’ reunion slot at this year’s Coachella festival alongside Pavement, which takes place April 16-18 in California.

Of course, the news of a reunion comes as no suprise to anyone who heard Cornell’s objectively abysmal Timbaland-produced album ‘Scream’, which sold about 32 copies and was universally slated. Soundgarden’s reunion also opens up the potential for a slew of 90s-themed festival bills this year, now Rage Against The Machine have had a massive resurgence and Smashing Pumpkins are rumoured to be dusting off their capes once more.

Relive the terror of Chris Cornell’s solo career below. Be thankful he’s got that out of his system.
